Thanks to his famous founders immediately became popular among connoisseurs of dance art. The dance itself appeared as a synthesis of classical ballet, yoga, and most importantly, improvisation techniques.

Founders

Once a young dancer Isadora Duncan, who denied classical ballet and later created a modern dance based on ancient Greek plasticity, was accused of retreating from the true dance school. However, the girl did not give up her principles and became one of the most famous dancers in the world. Talking about her innovative style of dance, she argued that "there is no pose, movement or gesture that would be beautiful in itself. Every movement will be beautiful only when it truly and sincerely expresses feelings and thoughts. The phrase "beauty of lines" itself is absurd. Line only then beautiful when it is directed to the great purpose." Thus, it is Isadora marked the beginning of the dance, whose main task is to learn to hear your inner voice and Express it through the body. However, despite the success of Duncan, the direction of contemporary began to develop only after more than 30 years after her death. In addition to Isadora Duncan in the development of this area took part, and well-known dancer, Marie Rambert and Martha Graham, as well as choreographers Rudolph von Laban and Merce Cunningham.

Art of performance and philosophy of contemporary art

Contemporary art is not just an art, it is a way to calm nerves and dive into a state of complete harmony. Dance can be performed to any music, because the main thing in it-to Express through the plastic your state of mind and get pleasure from the performance. Performing the contempo, the dancer also should not follow any pre-planned plan, it is only necessary to listen to music and improvise. Another condition contemporary, which established itself Isadora Duncan - is the performance of his barefoot. Contemporary is designed not only to distract a person from everyday problems, but also to teach him to understand his body, to own it and to regulate with the help of plastic his feelings and emotions, because it is no coincidence that Duncan said: "If you teach a person to completely own his body, if you exercise it in the expression of high feelings, make it so that the movements of his eyes, head, hands, body, legs will Express calm, deep thought, love, affection, friendship or a proud gesture of majestic rejection of something despicable, hostile, etc. D., this will be reflected on raising his consciousness, his soul."

Such dancers and choreographers as Ruth St made a significant contribution to the development of contemporary. Denis, Doris Humphrey, Mary Wigman, Paul Taylor, Rudolph von Laban, Martha Graham, Loie Fuller, Jose Limon, Marie Rambert, Merce Cunningham, and even musicians Francois Delsarte and Emile Jaques-Dalcroze, whose works inspired and sounded in productions and lessons of contemporary.

Almost all of the above persons are considered the founders of the dance modern, the names of many named created and developed their techniques, but without their participation contemporary dance as such would not have acquired its modern form.

In the XXI century contemporary style not only has not lost its relevance, but also has become one of the most developed, popular and commercially successful dance styles: it is studied in universities and dance studios around the world, put in modern and classical theaters, as well as popular TV shows.
