Kizomba-dance and music, which took its origins in Angola, is one of the most popular modern rhythms. In the summer of 1985, Kassav performed in the Lounge, which was attended by about 35,000 Angolans. In the concert program the musicians included their exclusive carnival melodies of the French Antilles (ZUK rhythms). Local musicians were so impressed by the amazing melodies that they combined them with the national rhythms of Samba, thus creating a completely new style: Kizomba, slow and very sensual and passionate dance. So Kizomba is - simbu under the influence of sound.
